Sponsored by a group of established resident and non-resident Bangladeshi industrialists, One Bank Limited was incorporated on May 12, 1999 as a public limited company with the registrar of Joint Stock Companies under the companies Act, 1994. It commenced banking operation as a 3rd generation bank in the private sector on July 14, 1999, after obtaining license from Bangladesh Bank on July 2, 1999.
